Lounge Studios needed a minimalist way for clients to upload stems — layers of a song, such as bass, drums, vocals, and guitar — to their system, while also verifying the stems before upload so as to not waste audio engineers' time. They wanted a way for clients to listen to the layered combination of their selected stems in the browser, No off the shelf system existed for doing so, and Sunflower designed a custom audio player that layers the audio in the browser, allowing clients to make sure their audio is correct before uploading. Sunflower also designed an elegant upload flow that utilized this audio system, and worked with the client to refine the system as new necessary features and changes became evident in production. This project involved frontend prototyping and design, Web Audio / DSP, and React.
